Accessible stays
We have four rooms on the ground floor, one of which is accessible. If you require an access-friendly room, please speak with a member of our team on 01189 842244. The hotel does not have a lift and the majority of our rooms are only accessible via the stairs.
Our Disabled Access Policy explains how we strive to provide the best possible experience for all our guests and visitors through a policy of continuous monitoring and improvement of our facilities and training for our staff.
Dog-friendly stays
We consider The Elephant to be a bit of a doggy haven – the perfect destination for pups and their humans.
Many – but not quite all – of our bedrooms are dog-friendly.
About your doggy stay:
- Your four-legged friend is welcome in all areas of the hotel, apart from The Herd restaurant.
- If you'd like to dine with your pup, meals can be enjoyed in the Babar.
- We have lovely spacious gardens for your pup to explore, with three dog-friendly rooms on the ground floor with patio doors – perfect for easy access to the garden area!
- All dog-friendly stays must be pre-booked so we can make sure you have the best bedroom for your stay. Please note that Classic Single rooms are not dog-friendly.
We ask just one thing in return: please consider the comfort of other humans, keeping your hound on a lead where necessary and being sure to calm them if they become a bit excited! We understand, we're excited too, but it's always good to be considerate!
Dog-friendly bedrooms need to be pre-booked; a fee of £20.00 applies for each pup (two pups max).
Family-friendly stays
Families are welcome here at the Elephant Hotel. We have a handful of Family Bedrooms which are perfect for family stays and can sleep two – four guests (two adults and two children up to the age of 12). We also have two connecting rooms at the hotel, perfect for families who need that little bit extra space. When ajoined, our connecting rooms are suitable for two adults and one child (up to the age of 14) in one room and two adults or two children in the other room. Cots and extra beds (including bedding) are available upon request.
Please call us on 01189 842244 to book Family Bedrooms: all of our bedrooms are individual and we’ll help you find the best one for your family dynamic.
A charge of £20.00 per night applies for an extra bed or cot for a child. This includes a Full English Breakfast. We have a scrumptious children’s dinner menu for smaller appetites.
Sustainable stays
Green Tourism
We understand the importance of our responsibility for future generations and how the choices we make at The Elephant Hotel, if they're not environmentally driven, could affect this.
As a business, we don't do 'green' by halves; we're evolving our operations to protect our natural environment from any adverse effects our hotel could have.
We believe that making conscious changes, implementing them in every aspect of your stay and actively seeking out more ecological choices is more about the journey than the destination. This is why we're proud to say that we've taken our first steps towards adopting a smart, sustainable outlook from top to bottom, showcasing efficient and eco-friendly decisions.
Follow us as we shift into the green tourism space. For now, take a closer look at the policies and processes we've already implemented to be kinder to our planet.
